Description of the School

HSS-LLRC (Library Learning Resource Centre) has excellent provisions for children to relax and read for information or pleasure. The classrooms are spacious and well appointed. An immense area is provided for school assemblies, contests, sports and physical education activities and for a variety of other activities.

HSS-Refectory is introduced to build healthy eating habits and culinary etiquette among the children. It’s a school with particular interest in providing a stable and advanced learning environment for all students with access to learning.

At HSS, we believe that education can’t be confined within the four walls of a classroom. Learning should be intuitive and equip students with the toolkit and skills to exercise their fully ignited curiosity themselves.

ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCE

We are required to set a target for overall absence. If a child’s attendance falls below 90%, parents will be contacted if there is not a reasonable explanation for this. We strive to maintain a good attendance record, but rely heavily on parental support.

If for any reason your child is unwell, please contact the school to let us know as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you, we will telephone/text you that morning to find out why your child is absent. On their return, please write a brief note explaining the reason for their absence, and any details the class teacher may need to know.

HOLIDAYS

A list of school holidays for the current year is available from the school office and the notice board. This list will help you to plan your own holidays to coincide with school holidays as far as possible, thus avoiding any loss of schooling for your child.

We are committed to providing the very best education possible for your child. There is a close link between attendance and progress. Requests for leave of absence in term time should be made, in writing, to the Principal and will only be authorized in exceptional circumstances.
